DALLAS – Reigning Supercars champion Chaz Mostert will co-drive the Lexus and Vasser Sullivan No. 15 Lexus RC F GT3 with Aaron Telitz for the 100-minute IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) sprint race around the streets of Detroit, Michigan. Lexus factory drivers Jack Hawksworth and Ben Barnicoat continue in the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 as they pursue the GTD PRO championship for the second time in four years.

#75: 75 Express, Mercedes-AMG GT3, GTD Pro: Chaz Mostert, PortraitsA well-seasoned GT and sports car racer, Mostert joins Lexus and Vasser Sullivan for the first time for the Detroit sprint race. In his full-time role in the Supercars series, Mostert drives a GR Supra for Walkinshaw TWG Racing where he looks to defend his series title from last season. In sports cars, Mostert owns wins in famed races such as the Bathurst 6 and 12 Hours, 24 Hours of Spa, and Rolex 24 At Daytona. He also holds championships in the Australian GT Championship and TCR Australia series.

Telitz, who won the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach in GTD last month, will make his second career start on the current Detroit street course, after earning a fourth-place finish in GTD PRO with Hawksworth in the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3 last season. He’ll go for his second straight street course victory on the season after the Long Beach victory.

Hawksworth, Barnicoat and the No. 14 team enter Detroit sitting ninth in the GTD PRO team point standings as they come off a ninth-place finish at Laguna Seca last weekend. Since the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix switched circuits in 2023, the British duo own a podium on the 1.7-mile street course, earning the GTD PRO runner-up finish in 2024.

The Detroit Grand Prix will be broadcast live and flag-to-flag on NBC and Peacock on Saturday, May 30, beginning at 4 p.m. ET. To keep up with all the racing action, follow GAZOO Racing USA on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

Jeff Bal, Director of Motorsport – Lexus Racing and GAZOO Racing

“We’re eager to return to the streets of Detroit for this year’s Grand Prix. Both RC F GT3s have a history of good runs in Detroit.  Our drivers have proven they can compete for wins on any race weekend, and I know they’re hungry to keep the Lexus up front. The addition of pairing Aaron (Telitz) with Chaz (Mostert) gives us another bullet in GTD PRO, allowing Lexus and Vasser Sullivan two powerful shots at victory. Big thanks to Andy Graves, Bruce Stewart and the entire Walkinshaw TWG Racing team for allowing us to have Chaz run with us while he’s in the middle of defending his Supercars title this year in the GR Supra. We’re looking forward to this one, for sure.”

“We’re really looking forward to having Chaz (Mostert) join us for the Detroit GP. He’s someone we’ve been keeping an eye on for a long time — his racecraft and consistency speak for themselves. Being part of the TRD family makes this a natural fit, and we’re excited to see what we can accomplish together in Detroit.”

Chaz Mostert, No. 15 Lexus RC F GT3

“I’m so excited to have the opportunity to race for Vasser Sullivan. I’ve raced in the (United) States a few times and always thought that the team looks so professional and like a tightknit family so it’s an honor to be able to race for the team. The Lexus RC F GT3 car looks incredible, and I can’t wait to get my first laps. I’m new to the Toyota-Lexus family and being able to get this opportunity being an Australian driver is very much a pinch yourself moment. I can’t wait to get to Detroit! I love street tracks and am looking forward to the challenge. I can’t thank my Supercar team, Walkinshaw TWG Racing, enough for allowing me to compete.”
