Mach2 Racing First to Confirm BMW M2 Racing Program

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Mach2 Racing is the first team to confirm its entry to the BMW M2 Racing (M2) class in the IMSA Airbnb Endurance Challenge with a two-car effort.

The team has acquired two M2s and will take delivery of them in early April, with testing to come before the class debuts at Circuit of The Americas, May 7-9, in Austin, Texas.

Ryan Saari, owner of Mach2 Racing, is a Pennsylvania-based racing veteran who believes, “As the first team entrant to M2 Challenge, we are truly looking to lead the way, all the way to the championship, and beyond.”

“We are here to win and we are here to stay. If things go as planned, we will fill a rig with M2s next year and it should be the best dollar-for-dollar multi-class endurance racing in the country.”

Saari owns the business, but his righthand man, Vaughn Glace, leads team operations. Pittsburgher Glace is a past SCCA Runoffs champion, 2021 in Formula X at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He’ll serve as the team’s coach and one of its four drivers.

As Saari noted, the team has the potential to expand further in the future beyond the two-car, four-driver lineup planned for the M2 races at COTA. They plan to scale-up based on driver demand for Rounds 2 and 3 at VIRginia International Raceway and Road America, respectively.

The Airbnb Endurance Challenge sees M2 race alongside Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3) competitors in two-hour endurance races. Both classes provide an entry point for burgeoning teams, crews and drivers to gain experience in an endurance racing format.
