IMSA Teams Finalize More Plans on Eve of Roar Before the Rolex 24

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – With on-track activity starting Friday from Daytona International Speedway with the Roar Before the Rolex 24 test, teams across the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge have firmed up even more plans.

Here are team announcements from January 8 through January 14, 2026:

WeatherTech Championship

January 8: JDC-Miller Motorsports Confirms Young Trio in No. 85 Porsche 963

Tijmen van der Helm, Nico Pino and Kaylen Frederick will share the No. 85 JDC-Miller Porsche 963 at the Rolex 24, with Frederick on for IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup rounds alongside the team’s two full-season drivers.

January 13: New Corvette Racing Program Manager Named

Andrea Hidalgo is the newest Corvette Racing Program Manager, succeeding recent predecessors Jessica Dane and Christie Bagne.

January 13: RLL McLaren Young Lineup Set

An all-rookie quartet of Max Esterson, Nikita Johnson, Dean Macdonald and Juri Vips will share RLL Team McLaren’s No. 59 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo at the Rolex 24, with Esterson and Johnson announced for the full-season.

January 13: van der Steur Aston Martin Adds Bennett

While not yet updated on the Roar entry list, van der Steur Racing posted on social media that Carl Bennett will complete its No. 19 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo alongside Rory van der Steur, Valentin Hasse-Clot and Sebastian Baud.

January 14: Lone Star Firms Up Its Endurance Cup Lineup

Scott Andrews, Lin Hodenius and James Roe will share Lone Star Racing’s No. 80 Mercedes-AMG GT3 for IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup rounds, with Ralf Aron fourth driver for the Rolex 24.

January 9, 12: Porto Steps up With RAFA Alongside Choksey; Martinez Moves to VPRC

IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge Grand Sport X (GSX) champion Kiko Porto graduates to IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge alongside Varun Choksey in RAFA Racing’s No. 12 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2. Meanwhile Rafael Martinez moves into VP Racing Challenge in the RAFA No. 12 GSX car there, opting to focus on single-driver racing.

January 9, 12: Pair of Shopify Racing Powered by TWOth Announcements

First Travis Hill and Nicole Havrda for IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, then Ron and Megan Tomlinson with Trevor Hill in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, were revealed as part of the new-look Shopify Racing Powered by TWOth.

January 12: Auto Technic Racing Back in Both Challenge Series

Austin Krainz and Stevan McAleer spearhead the Auto Technic Racing Michelin Pilot Challenge effort with Tiger Tari stepping up to its VP Racing SportsCar Challenge program.

January 12: Koch-Copeland Full Season Revealed

Jaxon Bell and Ford Koch will run a full season of Michelin Pilot Challenge in their Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2.

January 13: Herta Shuffles Hyundai Lineup

It’s the same drivers but different pairings across Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian’s quartet of Hyundai Elantra N TCR cars in Michelin Pilot Challenge.
