AutoTechnic Racing Confirms McAleer, Krainz Return for Michelin Pilot Challenge; Adds Tari for VP Racing Challenge

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -AutoTechnic Racing, which finished third in the 2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Grand Sport (GS) season, will be back to seek to improve upon that in 2026.

The team posted over the weekend it’s “Ready for Daytona! We’re pleased to announce that Austin Krainz and Stevan McAleer will be joining us for another campaign in Michelin Pilot Challenge behind the wheel of the BMW M4 GT4 EVO. Joined by Roland Krainz for the season-opening four-hour BMW M Endurance Challenge, the No. 27 crew is looking to build on their impressive debut season and third-place championship finish.”

“Adding to our fleet of BMW M4 GT4 Evos, we are also excited to announce a full-season entry into the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge for Tiger Tari. Tiger brings experience from multiple GT4 and Lamborghini Super Trofeo races, including a third-place finish at the 2024 Dubai 24H. For the Rolex weekend, Tiger will be joined by Chris Tasca for the BMW M Endurance Challenge, marking AutoTechnic Racing’s second entry into the championship for Daytona.”

The VP Racing SportsCar Challenge opens this weekend with two 45-minute sprint races as part of the Roar Before the Rolex 24 event, with the Michelin Pilot Challenge opener the following Friday, January 23.
