DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Rockwell Autosport Development announces its 2026 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge entry, competing in the Touring Car (TCR) class with the No. 15 Hyundai Elantra N TCR.
The team will run a full-season program with Doug Oakley and Daniel Hanley behind the wheel, targeting consistent front-running results across the IMSA calendar.
For 2026, Oakley will transition from his role as a race engineer into a full-season driving position, while still being involved in car and setup development. This will allow the team to sharpen its operational focus and maximize on-track performance.
“This is a big step forward for me personally and for all my guys on the team,” Oakley said. “It will be my first time back on the grid since my last IMSA event at Daytona in 2024, where we finished P4, and I’m extremely motivated and confident that we have what it takes to compete at the front. The Hyundai Elantra N TCR has proven it can win at this level, and with the foundation we’ve built, 2026 is about execution.”
Hanley is equally motivated heading into the season:
“I’m excited about what we’re building for 2026,” said Hanley. “The team has put in the work, the Elantra N TCR is a proven package, and I’m confident we have what it takes to fight at the front all year.”
Team leadership echoed that confidence and excitement:
“Doug’s move into a full-season driving role is a natural progression for where this team is headed,” said Eric Rockwell. “Combined with our driver lineup and technical partners, we’re in a strong position heading into 2026.”
“We’ve focused on building something sustainable and competitive,” added Alex Rockwell. “With the Elantra N TCR and the team we’ve assembled, we’re ready to consistently contend in TCR. I’m also looking forward to joining Doug and Daniel in the car at Daytona for the four-hour race as the third driver – it’s going to be a great way to kick off the season.”
The team is also excited to continue strengthening its technical partnership with Bryan Herta Autosport, giving it access to proven engineering support and platform expertise with the Elantra N TCR.
