Rolex 24 At Daytona, Motul Petit Le Mans in Contention for USA Today’s 10Best Motorsports Events

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 8, 2026) – Two of the standout endurance racing classics on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule have been nominated for USA Today’s Reader’s Choice 10Best Events as the best motorsports race in the country.

The season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona, which just ran its 64th race in January and featured record attendance, is one of two IMSA races nominated for the award. The other is Motul Petit Le Mans, which is set for its 29th running this October to cap off the 2026 campaign and is also coming off a record-setting number of fans this past October.

USA Today noted an expert panel has nominated their top picks for the best motorsports races in the U.S., and now it’s up to you to determine the winner.

USA Today describes the Rolex 24, simply:

“Held at the World Center of Racing — Daytona International Speedway — the Rolex 24 at Daytona brings together drivers from a variety of motorsports to compete for the checkered flag. Working in teams, the drivers race through the night for a full 24 hours in the kickoff to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. In addition to watching the race, fans can visit the garage to see work on the cars, collect autographs from their favorite drivers, and enjoy live entertainment all weekend long.”

And USA Today adds on Motul Petit Le Mans:

“MOTUL Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta offers plenty of action for racing enthusiasts each fall, including night racing, high-tech cars that reach top speeds on the back stretch, and a track with plenty of spectacular viewing opportunities.”

The two races are among a bevy nominated across the domestic motorsports series spectrum in the U.S., also including races from NASCAR, IndyCar, drag racing and short track.

IMSA events have had success in the 10Best in the past; notably, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring was voted America’s No. 1 motorsports event in both 2019 and 2020, and has been a runner-up on other occasions.
