Ford Racing Rebrand Revealed

Ford’s longtime ode to racing has been acknowledged with a new rebrand to Ford Racing, announced in a company blog post by Will Ford, general manager of Ford Racing and the great-great-grandson of Henry Ford.

The youngest Ford opened the blog this way:

“In 1901, my great-great-grandfather, Henry Ford, drove a car he built called “Sweepstakes” in a race against the most famous driver in America. He wasn’t a racer. But he had to win. If he lost that day, Ford Motor Company might not exist.

“He won.”

Imsa Fordvir25 082225That launched into confirmation of the rebrand from Ford Performance to Ford Racing under one global banner to be used across all its motorsport disciplines.

“Under one global Ford Racing banner, our engineers and designers will develop our performance road cars right alongside our race cars. The technology that survives the Baja 1000 will be in the DNA of the next F-150 Raptor. The aerodynamic lessons we learn at Daytona and Le Mans will be sculpted into the body of the next Mustang,” Will Ford wrote.

He added, “Starting today, you will see our new identity roll out. The full force of Ford Racing will be unleashed in January when we kick off the new season at the Dakar Rally, the Rolex 24 at Daytona, and our own Season Launch event.”

The Mustang, of course, is present within three IMSA race series. Its Mustang GT3, Mustang GT4 and Mustang Dark Horse R compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Michelin Pilot Challenge and Mustang Challenge series, respectively. The Ford Mustang GT3 claimed its first global victory at the 2025 Rolex 24 At Daytona with Christopher Mies, Frederic Vervisch and Dennis Olsen sharing the No. 65 Ford Mustang GT3 for Ford Multimatic Motorsports in the Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) class.

The youngest Ford ended simply:

“We don’t just go to races. We go to win.”
