Orlando, FL. – Stallion Motorsports will make its official IMSA debut in 2026, competing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge with the No. 77 CUPRA Leon VZ TCR.
The 2026 season will mark the second year of Cupra’s participation in Michelin Pilot Challenge, as the brand continues its global expansion following highly successful Touring Car (TCR) programs across the World Tour, Europe, Asia, and South America. For Stallion Motorsports, joining the Cupra effort represents a strategic step forward — combining proven race-winning performance with a bold new chapter of international collaboration.
“The Cupra Leon VZ TCR has already shown front-running pace and remarkable reliability in IMSA,” said a Stallion Motorsports representative. “We’re excited to build on that foundation and bring our own experience and data with this platform into the championship.”
Stallion Motorsports team members delivered the first win for the new Cupra Leon VZ TCR in the car’s debut in the opening round of the highly contested 2024 TCR South America championship.
The Brazilian-American team will strengthen its technical partnership with GOU Racing, the pioneering organization that was the first team to compete with a Cupra in IMSA.
GOU not only debuted the brand in IMSA but also delivered Cupra’s first-ever podium finish in the series, with a third-place finish at VIRginia International Raceway, marking a milestone for both the manufacturer and its American partners.
In parallel, Stallion Motorsports will work closely with NGP Racing, the official brand partner for Cupra in North America, Mexico and Central America. John Martin represented NGP stating “NGP Motorsports, the official partner for Cupra Racing in North America, Mexico and Central America, is pleased to welcome Stallion Motorsports to the Cupra brand with their brand-new Cupra Leon VZ TCR. We are excited for their entry and are really looking forward to a great season starting at Daytona.”
Together, the three organizations form a collaborative network connecting Brazil, the United States and Spain — sharing data, engineering expertise, and a unified vision to elevate the Cupra brand within IMSA competition.
The driver lineup and additional program details will be announced in the coming weeks.
