DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Tower Motorsports has confirmed Sebastian Alvarez’s return for the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the team’s No. 8 ORECA LMP2 07 in the Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) class.
The No. 8 entry of Alvarez, John Farano and Sebastien Bourdais finished a season-best second at the 2025 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring in March. Each of these three tested the team’s car at the IMSA-sanctioned November test at Daytona International Speedway last weekend along with Louis Foster.
The Tower team wrote on its Instagram page: “Through 2025, Sebastian established himself as a key pillar in our program—not just with his pace and precision, but with how naturally he’s meshed with the Tower family. His feedback, discipline, and technical feel for the car have become a valuable part of our development, and we’re excited to keep building on that foundation in 2026.
“From on-track performance to the deeper look we’ve shared in our long-form series, Sebastian’s mindset and approach have strengthened every part of this team. With testing in full swing, we’re already hard at work preparing for what’s next—and having him locked in for 2026 sets a strong tone for the year ahead.”
