ROBERT NOAKER, No. 13 Robert Noaker Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DH) – “This hasn’t been a great track for me in the past, and we’re turning it around this weekend. We’ve gotten to work with my teammate Sandy at Sebring and now, and do a lot of coaching. Just being able to have him finish second in his third race in the series is something remarkable. That just shows what we can do as a team when you get the setup, the driver, and the coaching.”
SANDY SATULLO, No. 7 Robert Noaker Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DH) – “It was a strong start, Robert and I had a good game plan there at the start and we we’re able to pull away. The guys behind us got to battling, it looked like a fantastic race behind us in the mirror. Robert and I stayed in line, and I know he was not going as fast as he possibly could, he had a little bit more in the tank. I think he was trying to help me our as much as he could with learning the track. It’s my first time here, so still trying to learn the track. Robert was a great teammate and we had an amazing team effort. RNR has done a great job this weekend.
“The Satullo family has been racing a really long time and just the preparation from RNR, I’ve never seen anything like it. Even looking at the toolbox and how organized everything is. They had these cars prepared weeks ago. Preparation is key, and Robert is an unbelievable driver, it’s fantastic what he’s doing. To have him pass his knowledge along to me has helped tremendously. He knows these cars better than anyone else.”
CORBIN COLLINS, No. 20 McCumbee McAleer Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DH) – “It’s absolutely wonderful. I’ve never been to (WeatherTech Raceway) Laguna Seca, but it’s now one of my favorite tracks. I’m giving this interview covered in champagne, so I couldn’t be an happier. Wonderful weekend, stayed patient all race, and finally made that move in the Corkscrew. I don’t think I could have picked a more fun corner to do it in. Hoping to do the same thing tomorrow.”
ALEX BACHOURA, No. 33 Spark Performance Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DHL) – “Really it was a great battle, had to work my way up. Made some mistakes, loss the lead, then had to make it back. This is so much fun, Diaz is a fantastic competitor. Him and I were very equal, and it was the guy who made the least amount of mistake at the end got the podium. It was really fun, the Ford Mustang is a fantastic vehicle for this thing, 500HP and a manual transmission, what more could you ask for? This was just classic racing at its finest.”
ALFONSO DIAZ, No. 15 TechSport Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DHL) – “What fun it was! The outcome I didn’t like, second to Alex. As soon as he passed (Marcos) Vento, he had more pace. My car was understeering a lot, TechSport did a great job setting up the car, but for some reason we lost traction to the front tires under braking, but it was fun. Alex made a mistake, I passed him, but it was a tough race for both of us, lots of respect for Alex. I have to say, DHL is called the legends, but we’re out there running with the kids. This group, legends, it’s fast.”
ZACHRY LEE, No. 48 McCumbee McAleer Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R (DHL) – “I felt better coming into this race than Sebring. I was way off Alfonso (Diaz) and Alex (Bachoura’s) pace at Sebring, and I’m getting closer, so I’m getting better, feeling good about it. I like the tighter tracks like (WeatherTech Raceway) Laguna Seca. I felt really good at Road America last year, and I’m really looking forward to the Charlotte Roval, I think that’s going to be fun.”
