‘Rexy the Dinosaur’ Is Returning in GTD PRO, ‘Spike the Dragon’ Coming Back in LMP2
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Rexy and Spike are coming back to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2025. AO Racing has had its two popular cars confirmed to compete in the upcoming season.
The No. 77 AO Racing entry, affectionately known as “Rexy” for its dinosaur-themed livery, will race again in the Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) class. The No. 77 leads the 2024 GTD PRO standings by 99 points heading into next week’s season finale, the Motul Petit Le Mans.
The No. 99 AO Racing ORECA LMP2 07, called “Spike” for its dragon livery, ranks sixth in the LMP2 standings.
Drivers for both cars will be named later.
