Drivers Must Learn a 50-Page Manual to Understand All It Can Do
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Grand Touring Prototype class that debuted this year in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship introduced a wave of new and exciting technologies to the sport. Not the least of which are inside the cockpit of the prototype.
Take a look as Porsche Penske Motorsport’s Felipe Nasr summarizes the many, many car functions that the driver can operate and monitor from the steering wheel. Traditional items such as paddle shifts and clutch controls are part of the GTP steering wheel, as well as new additions such as hybrid energy consumption monitors, brake-by-wire settings and much more.
“There’s so much that the driver can control inside of this hybrid car nowadays,” Nasr says.
