Lindh, Goldburg Reunited in No. 38; Dickerson Added to No. 30 for Sebring
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Rasmus Lindh and Dan Goldburg have been reunited for the remainder of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season in Performance Tech Motorsports’ No. 38 Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3) entry.
The duo combined to lead the No. 38 Ligier JS P320 to a fourth-place team finish in last year’s LMP3 standings, with Lindh securing fifth in the drivers’ battle. Goldburg was part of the Performance Tech lineup that placed seventh in class at January’s Rolex 24 At Daytona, which doesn’t pay points toward the championship. Lindh drove for the Andretti Autosport entry that finished fourth at Daytona.
Lindh and Goldburg will anchor the No. 38 lineup for the six remaining races, each awarding points toward the championship, with a third driver to be named for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts on March 19.
“It’s great to have Rasmus and Dan together for the rest of the season,” team principal Brent O’Neill said. “When Rasmus first drove with us three years ago, there was no doubt in my mind that he was fast and would complement Dan, who was already super quick and comfortable in the Ligier. He and Dan had immediate chemistry which we really saw amplified at the end of 2021. They’ll be quick together, and with a little luck will be able to grab wins that just barely evaded them last season.”
Lindh, the 20-year-old Swede, and Goldburg, the 43-year-old Floridian, notched a pair of second-place results last year at Mid-Ohio and Road America. They also teamed to finish fourth in the IMSA Prototype Challenge development series using LMP3 cars, with a victory at VIRginia International Raceway.
“We’re back and we’re going for it,” Goldburg said. “I learned a lot last year about managing a WeatherTech (Championship) race – when to be patient and when to go all out – and made significant improvements in my driving. Trying to keep up with Rasmus and learning from his data and coaching has made me a much better driver, and we’re very comfortable as a driver combo and team. We’re in a good spot and ready to kick off the main season at our home track, Sebring.”
Dickerson Fills Jr III Racing’s Roster for Sebring
Dakota Dickerson, the 2021 IMSA Prototype Challenge co-champion, will make his WeatherTech Championship debut at Sebring in the No. 30 Jr III Racing Ligier LMP3. He’ll join Ari Balogh and Garett Grist in the car for the 12-hour race.
Jr III finished second at last year’s Motul Petit Le Mans with Balogh, Grist and Spencer Pigot sharing driving duties. The team bypassed the Rolex 24 in January to focus on the season championship.
“I am excited to be joining Jr III Racing for the Sebring Twelve Hours,” Dickerson said. “Being familiar with the Ligier as well as competing against the team, it was an easy ‘yes’ because I know the quality of the car and the pace are top-notch. Our test together went very well and working with Ari, Garett and the crew came naturally. My goal is to perform and hopefully help bring the No. 30 Airbnb Ligier to victory circle.”
