Car Care Month: Mazda Offers Essential Car Care Program for Healthcare Workers Nationwide

As we wrap up our April is Car Care Month series on IMSA.com, we wanted to call attention to a unique and generous offer from Mazda, a longtime IMSA manufacturer and supporter of motorsport.

Mazda introduced a new program on April 16, offering car care service to those on the frontlines in the fight against COVID-19.

The Essential Car Care Program being offered at participating Mazda dealers provides healthcare workers across the country, includes free oil changes and enhanced interior and exterior cleaning. The program is open to most makes and models and is not restricted to Mazda-only vehicles.

“Supporting the communities where we live and work is rooted deeply in Mazda’s 100-year history,” Mazda North American Operations President Jeff Guyton said. “We are honored to give back to those dedicated to saving lives during this pandemic. We understand the important role vehicles play in people’s lives and by partnering with our dealer network, we hope to make a meaningful impact in communities around the country.”

Mazda will invest $5 million as part of the initiative. The manufacturer actively promotes recommendations from the CDC and government officials at the dealers, in addition to workplace personal hygiene practices to ensure safety for workers and customers.

“Mazda dealers prioritize giving back to the communities in which they operate,” Jim McDonald, Mazda National Dealer Advisory Council Chairman said. “In this challenging time, we want to do what we can to support our local healthcare workers. We deeply appreciated all they have done and will continue to do in the fight against COVID-19.”

Mazda’s currently races in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Daytona Prototype international (DPi) class with a pair of entries. The manufacturer anticipates joining the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR class with the debut of the Mazda3 TCR in the future.
