While previous IMSA Car Care Month editions have focused on the surface or outer components of your vehicle, it’s time to pop the hood and look inside to keep your engine running smooth with Motul.
The French lubrication company has become a familiar staple within the IMSA paddock – including the Motul Pole Awards and Motul Petit Le Mans, as well as team support for BMW Team RLL and Pfaff Motorsports – but why should it be incorporated into your car maintenance routine?
Here are a few points on why you shouldn’t ignore that Oil Change light next time it blinks on:

Prevent Wear and Tear on Your Engine
Outside elements can’t be prevented, but its impact on your engine can be. Dirt and other particles seep into an engine and its oil, causing the latter to eventually turn into a thick sludge over time. Keep your engine components operating smoothly and cohesively with a quick oil and filter change, rather than letting problems build over time.
Over Time Leads to Overheating
Without proper oil circulating within the engine, each piece will have to work that much harder, raising the engine’s temperature. As a double whammy, the higher temperatures actually can break down your oil and cause it to lose its effectiveness. Avoid a smokey, roadside breakdown with fresh oil running through the engine.

Drive Further, Run Longer
Friction is no friend to your engine and without it, see your gas mileage and efficiency increase. While fewer stops at the gas station is a short-term benefit, keeping your beloved car on the road is something to celebrate in the long run.
The Stamp of Approval
IMSA is proud to partner with 17 different manufacturers throughout its different racing series. Here are a few that Motul is proud to have their factory stamp of approval: Audi, BMW, Ford, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche, to name a few.
