Park Place Motorsports returns to MICHELIN Pilot Challenge action at Watkins Glen International for the Tioga Downs Casino Resort 240 at The Glen this week after winning at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in early May.
The Glen offers 3.4-miles and 11 turns, including its famous Bus Stop turn, of track. The Tioga Downs Casino Resort 240 at The Glen is a four-hour endurance race for the Michelin Pilot Challenge, the second endurance race of the season. Driver and Sponsor of the No. 7 VOLT Lighting Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR Alan Brynjolfsson and professional driver Trent Hindman take on the GS Class with a bullseye on their back.
Brynjolfsson and Hindman kept the competition behind them at Mid-Ohio to take home their first win of the 2019 season. They enter Round 4 at Watkins Glen fourth in the Championship Points Standings with 73 points, seven points behind third place and three points ahead of fourth place. As the Michelin Pilot Challenge enters the middle of its season Park Place Motorsports will keep a close eye on the tight points battle.
While it has been nearly two months since the Michelin Pilot Challenge has raced, Brynjolfsson and Hindman have stayed focus running additional sports car races. They took home two podium finishes at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and one podium finish at Sonoma Raceway.
Alan Brynjolfsson, Driver of the No. 7 VOLT Lighting Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR
“I am very excited to get back in the car with Trent and start the busiest portion of the IMSA season,” Brynjolfsson said. “With races every two weeks the next four to eight weeks determines the rest of our season. We are coming off a fantastic win at Mid-Ohio and I can’t wait to keep it going. I’ve been training and conditioning to prepare for the summer season, and I am ready.”
Trent Hindman, Driver of the No. 7 VOLT Lighting Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR
“It’s been quite some time since our last Michelin Pilot Challenge outing in the VOLT 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR,” Hindman said. “I’m very much looking forward to getting back to work with the Park Place Motorsports crew. We’ve got a lot of momentum rolling now following our success at Mid-Ohio and it’s absolutely crucial that we keep up the strong results heading into what is now, the busiest portion of our season.
“Kicking off the summer with a grueling four-hour endurance event at Watkins Glen puts a lot of pressure on us to perform. With that said we’ve got an excellent strategist on our pit box, I’ve got an awesome co-driver in Alan, and we have a very hungry team going over the wall for us. I look forward to hunting down that second victory of the season with Park Place Motorsports.”
